Production of wooden windows

It is this technology that makes it possible to avoid deformation of the frame and sashes during the entire period of operation. The manufacture of wooden windows is a laborious process, in addition to assembling the wooden structure itself, it is necessary to carefully select the optimal composition for impregnation to protect wood from insects, moisture and ultraviolet radiation.

For this, special primers and varnishes from German and Finnish manufacturers are used.

Production of glued laminated timber for wooden windows

Glued laminated timber is produced in those regions where wood is harvested. Ready-made timber comes to big cities. For its production, large production areas are required, since round timber (sawn untreated wood) must be processed, dried in a special chamber, dissolved into lamellas, and then glued under pressure.

Window timber in accordance with GOST must have a cross section of at least 84 x 86 mm and be glued together from three or more lamellas. Lamel - a wooden blank 28 mm thick. The slats are glued together so that the wood fibers of each of the blanks are located in different directions.

In a cheaper version, they are also spliced along the length every 4-5 cm. This can be seen if the windows have a transparent varnish coating. The beam in a more expensive version is made of solid lamellas, not spliced in length.

Timber processing

After the beam is glued, it has a length of 6 m. For the manufacture of a wooden window, the beams are cut according to the dimensions specified in the order, leaving an allowance of 30 mm for processing. Workpieces are obtained, which are calibrated and fed to a 4-sided machine, where they are processed to a size of 78 x 78 mm.

On the same machine, the glazing bead is selected. Then the workpieces go to the corner center. It is here that blanks from timber turn into windows.

By overtaking, any types of window beams are produced from blanks:

  • shutters of any kind;
  • boxes;
  • impost vertical and horizontal;
  • mortise slabs of different widths.

Also, the angular center allows you to make a selection of the spike-eye. This type of corner assembly ensures the reliability, durability and aesthetic appearance of a wooden window.

Assembling a wooden window

After the blanks are made, they go to the next stage of the production of wooden windows - assembly. Wooden windows are assembled into a single whole on a special machine.

On it, the box, sashes are assembled, the corner joints of the thorn-eye and grooves are put on glue. After gluing, the windows should dry out within 24 hours. At the same stage, an impost is cut in - a wooden window element that separates the double-glazed window into separate parts.

The impost cuts into the sash or box of a window for a deaf product or a stained-glass window. The process of manufacturing and assembling the wooden part of the window ends here.

Grinding

The wooden parts of the window are sanded several times. The first grinding is carried out on a calibrating machine, then it is manually ground using pneumatic orbital sanders.

An individual approach is required to each hard-to-reach place, since the profile of a wooden window, regardless of whether it is a sash or a box, has a complex section.

Primer

Products are primed by completely immersing the sash or box in a bath with a primer solution. After each layer has dried, an interlayer polishing is performed.

Coloring

Wooden windows are always painted in two layers. It is carried out with covering paint or transparent varnish. In both cases, a pneumatic paint spray gun is used. Before moving on to the next stage of production, the windows dry for 48 hours.

Hardware installation

The next step in the manufacture of wooden windows is fittings. This work is done by specially trained craftsmen, as it is expensive.

The installation of drives, locks along the perimeter of the leaves and reciprocal levels is carried out with a tool - an additive for the hinge, a template and a manual milling cutter. Handle settings - drilling filler machine.

Installation of double-glazed windows

Almost the last stage in the production of wooden windows. On a special table, laying the windows horizontally, the master produces the glazing of the window.

The glazing bead is fastened with a pneumatic stud gun. After the double-glazed window is fixed, all seams are sealed. For this, silicone is used, which is also applied with a pneumatic gun.

Everything, the production of wooden windows is completed

And finally, the very last stage of production is pre-sale preparation. The finished wooden window is cleaned of dust, carefully packed in hard cardboard corners and packaging film.
