How beautiful and how to paint tires for flower beds
Outdated car tires may well become a material for manufacturing for summer cottages. The most unexpected crafts of them are already full of playgrounds, city courtyards. If you get acquainted with the basic principles of working with old tires and painting them, then, using imagination, each summer resident can create creative flower beds for his site.
Flowerbeds from car tires were made a long time ago, but somehow monotonously: tires were installed in the yard, earth was poured inside, flowers were planted. At best, they painted them. Over the past few years, this idea has received a new development, now tires are cut, twisted, made of them into luxurious bowls or fantastic animals that miraculously hold the soil with plants inside.
Tires turned out to be an excellent material for making flower beds - affordable, durable, easy to process. They perfectly tolerate any weather vagaries, remain attractive, of course, if they are properly painted. This is usually done with oil, enamel paints or nitro paints; spray car paint fits well on clean rubber. An aerosol can allows you to cope with painting very quickly and efficiently.
So that the flower bed does not overheat in the sun, the tires are covered with light paint, complemented with some kind of pattern. Just do not need to apply a very thick layer of paint, it can lag behind in pieces after alternate exposure to frost and heat. The expanding capabilities of such different materials as paint and rubber do not match, a thin layer of paint reacts to changes in temperature along with rubber, and a thick one reacts on its own. Colors are usually chosen in harmony with each other. But we must remember that the flower bed includes such a mandatory, beautiful element in itself, like plants. Therefore, before painting, you should think about the flowers or ornamental grasses that will be planted: if the tires are brighter than the flowers, then they will dominate.
Simple multi-colored flower beds
The easiest option for a flower bed is to simply put the tires in the right place, fill it with soil, plant flowers. It will be good to use large diameter tires, especially if they are beautifully painted with bright colors. It is very important not to forget to make a drainage layer for plants, otherwise their roots may rot without removing excess moisture. Tires can be stacked on top of each other, making a high flower bed or even a multi-tiered one. In this case, not only high and low flowers are used, but even ampelous ones, such as, for example, lobelia or ampelous variants of petunias and garden geraniums. If you just put a few tires, painted in different colors, on top of each other in a random order, you already get a pretty flower bed.
Several tires can be painted and laid so that they take the form of cups with a teapot, for reliability, you need to add a piece of pipe (teapot spout) and a curved metal band (cups and teapot handles). If you are not afraid to cut the tires, you can make flower beds in the shape of flowers with petals. To do this, you need to take a tire, clean it of sand and dirt, wash it, apply a pattern of petals on it with chalk around the entire circumference, and cut it out with a sharp knife. Petals can be of any shape: rounded, triangular, quadrangular - it will still turn out beautifully. Now the most difficult thing - the petals need to be turned out. That's all, it's time to paint the workpiece, and then you can populate the plants.
If there is a whole wheel, and the owner is not afraid of hard physical work, then you can make such a flower bowl along with a stand-leg. To do this, just as in the previous case, draw the petals, cut out, turn the tire inside out. Only the cut rubber attached to the disc remains on it, forming the original leg-stand. For the manufacture of flowerbeds, you do not need to choose newer tires, this is just the case when old worn tires are more convenient for processing. The only thing that matters is the sharpness of the knife and the imagination of the master.

Decorative and non-standard flower beds
Flower beds in the form of animals look very beautiful. It is not difficult to build a flower bed - a turtle. In the old car tire, you need to make cuts where the paws are marked. From the second tire, you need to cut the outer side and cut it into 4 parts, they need to be inserted into the slots - here are the paws. A small tail is added at the back, but the head is easily obtained from a flat plastic bottle. Now you need to color the turtle, put soil inside and plant flowers that resemble the color of the shell in appearance.
Flowerbeds in the form of a swan are made from cut tires. The markings on the tire will have to be done with a ruler, because the wings must be symmetrical. The contours must be cut with a sharp knife, the tire must be turned inside out. To keep the tail and neck in a given position, use a wire or fix it with a fishing line. White or black paint will complete the piece. Such swans are used as independent ground flower beds or even planters.
By the same principle, parrots or fantastic birds of paradise are made. They are hung on trees or special stands, flowerpots with bright flowers are inserted into them. Such original creations are able to cheer up even after the hardest work in the garden or in the garden.
And what a frog-princess can be made without even cutting or twisting the tires! All you need is to put 3 tires (two at the base, one at the top), build eyes on the top one, paint all three in a joyful green color, add a sly smile on the top tire. And the selected flowers should complete the image. Robots, grandmas Hedgehogs, snakes and dragons, donkeys with carts, fabulous unicorns and zebras - all this is done from old car tires. Each craftsman, relying on well-known technologies and examples, creates something of his own - this search, which stimulates the imagination, brings pleasure in itself, and the resulting products delight and inspire others.
Most often, people paint their rubber tires only on the outside, but it is desirable to treat the upper quarter of the inside as well, this will not only give the flower bed a more attractive look, but also protect the material from the effects of the weather.
Before painting, the rubber must be degreased with acetone or white spirit, then apply a thin layer of white paint, and apply the main color over it. Then even the old cracked rubber will take the color well, and it will last a long time. It is very convenient to use aerosol cans: the paint lays down in a thin layer, at the same time it perfectly penetrates into all cracks. Even if the master does not know how to draw, stencils can be used, then any pattern will be on the shoulder.
