Amulet for the home: a wreath of spikelets

It is not now invented that there are certain items that are worth keeping in the house in order to save it from various troubles and misfortunes, so that there is peace and prosperity in the house. Such items are called amulets. A souvenir bought in a store in the form of a brownie or a broom is just a souvenir. It is worth trying to make a charm for your home with your own hands. And don't let it look perfect. But if you put a drop of your spiritual warmth into its manufacture, do it in a good mood and at the same time do not forget to repeat to yourself: “I am making a charm to protect my home and relatives”, everything will be as it should be. That is GOOD.

Today I propose to make from spikelets.

I want to immediately warn you that this is not a master class, but I am simply sharing my experience in making a wreath. It is also worth mentioning that I made a wreath of spikelets for the first time and in the process of work I often changed what I had thought up in advance.

A natural ear, and even more so a bunch of ears, has always been considered a symbol of prosperity and prosperity. It contains the living energy of the Earth, which gives food and strength. The amulet made of this material will surely have a beneficial effect on the microclimate in the house and, if you believe it, will save your house from any evil from the outside.

Any spikelets are suitable: rye, wheat, barley or oats. Where can you get them? Of course, in the field. My spikelets appeared at me at the end of August. Then the whole family went to the forest to pick mushrooms. And so, while I was looking for mushrooms, I went to the edge of the forest, and there was just beginning a field full of ears. And I picked a bunch for myself, may the farmers forgive me. These spikelets stood in my vase from the end of August to the end of December, they dried well. Do not believe if you are told that spikelets can be made from anything: on the Internet they offer to take threads from matting or tow, I have seen options from newspaper tubes, etc. All this is not right, we need natural, mature ears that have absorbed the warmth and light of the bright sun and grown on a spacious field.

And in December, I started making a wreath-amulet from them. First, I prepared copper wire (it is thin and bends well), as well as satin ribbons of two colors and lace.

Then I dismantled this “artistic mess” into separate ears “by height”.

I fixed spikelets of the same length in two or three places with copper wire, resulting in such small bunches of ears. I decided to fasten seven pieces, it seemed to me this number was the most suitable.

This is what it looks like up close.

I planned that I would fix the resulting bunches of ears on some kind of metal, plastic or cardboard. But then suddenly my eyes fell on a wooden (or bamboo) lattice stand for hot, which was in my kitchen. And I decided that I use it for my amulet.

The length of the spikelets was halved. And then she removed the wire, it turned out that she was not needed.

I decided to glue the bunches of spikelets to the stand with hot glue. For this I needed a glue gun.

That's how I started this work of gluing spikelets to the surface of the stand.

Trying to neatly lay the ears in a circle, she continued to work.

I have already said above that the ears should be well dried. Of course, grains pour out of them, but the shape of the ear does not change from this.

Glued, glued and finished. By the way, it's not long. The good thing is that hot glue is easy to use: it's thick and dries quickly. It is important to lay all the spikelets in one direction. And even so, the wreath turns out to be somewhat disheveled. Although, who likes what.

It's time to turn the wreath-amulet on the front side, which I did. Here's what happened.

Since the New Year was approaching, I decided to decorate the future wreath-amulet with Christmas tree paraphernalia. And cotton lace came in handy (I just like natural).

With the same hot glue, I began to glue lace along the edge of the base for the wreath. At the same time, I tried to lay it in folds.

I glued the lace in a circle, cut off the excess, and neatly sewed the joint with white threads so that it was not noticeable. I glued a snowflake and shiny cones. By the way, this New Year's outfit can then be replaced with other decorative items, for example, empty painted eggs for Easter or dried chamomile, calendula or dried flowers for summer. And in the fall, you can glue beautiful colored autumn leaves. Glue is easily removed from the smooth surface of the stand when it hardens and does not even leave traces. I made sure of it. Therefore, it will not be difficult to change compositions according to the season on our amulet wreath, if there is a desire.

Yes, I forgot to say about the loop on which the wreath will hang. I simply passed a piece of decorative braid through the hole in the stand and tied it into a knot. She hung the wreath on the kitchen door. Here we have the "heart of the house", a common table and a "hearth".

The amulet wreath is ready. Try and you make a charm for your home. It doesn't have to be wreath-shaped. Think about this topic, for sure, the right thought will come to your mind and you will create such an amulet with your own hands that will protect YOUR home. All happiness and good luck!

A wreath of spikelets can be woven. See how to do it in this video:
