How cleaning changes life: an interview with Regina Rakhmatullina. General cleaning of life - the initial stage on the path to success

Do not pour into a full glass of water. This is one of the fundamental principles of any change. It is impossible to radically change life and rewrite history on your sheet if you act on the basis of an unsorted baggage of experience.

Your life puzzle will always come together in the same picture if you use the same elements, no matter how many times you mix them up at the start.

It is necessary to start the conscious creation of yourself and your new experience from zeroing.

Not from a search for goals, not from declaring a vision of yourself in 5 years, not from questions of mission and purpose. This whole process will be confused about past ideas, which, moreover, take a lot of energy.

You need to start by throwing all the rubbish out of your life: on the physical, energy and mental levels.

The uncontrolled accumulation of the past leads to two things:

1. Endless reproduction of your past. Life becomes like deja vu.

2. Slowing down the speed of life. This is when you look at those who manage three times as much and do not understand how they do it. Life success and realization in all areas is possible only at a fast speed.

Stop living like you have 500 years left
~ Bill Gates

By the way, sometimes a person sincerely tries to speed up his rhythm with early rises, sports, tough self-discipline, but nothing happens. Energy jumps from heady ups to sharp drops, when there is nothing but devastation inside. The reasons may be different, here you need to look at the situation and ask impartial questions to yourself - “why is this happening?”, But one of them may be just the desire to drive at normal speed without unhooking the van of your many years of trash.

“Machines” for all of us are created for full-fledged movement, the question is in the driver and his approach to the whole process. It is not enough to press only on gas, as well as it is not enough just to choose a direction if you are firmly attached to something or there is no gasoline.

General cleaning of life for those who prefer speed and completely new horizons:

It makes sense to clean up life in all three dimensions: the past, the present and, don't be surprised, the future. Yes, in your future, shit is already piled up in the form of ideas about it, forgive me for being so straightforward, but it also needs to be cleared.

I suggest starting with the present. It is the most substantive, here and now. A full-fledged cleansing of the current moment from trash will already give you noticeable strength and fresh energy, and you still need it.

The principle is to throw out everything that is possible and even A bit more. The bottom line is to put an end to each unclosed issue: either complete the case or cancel it if its need is no longer so important.

The main thing is to remove all hanging questions from the to-do list.

I want to note that it is not proposed here to immediately polish your real one like Cinderella (although this is useful!) - first you need to put things in order and close the hangings, even by resetting them. It is necessary to remove tasks from the waiting list or start them in the process if they hang there for more than a few weeks. This will give a colossal influx of new energy.

And now in more detail. What will those who really intend to collect new picture your experience:

1. Throw out the trash

We get rid of all garbage. Start from your home. We throw it away, give it away, take it to a shelter. But not according to the principle, I will put it in a box, somehow I will bring it to the church. And we'll take it away. Leave nothing on the pending list.

What is trash?

That's all you don't use. Let's do it this way, everything that you haven't used during the year (it's very loyal) must be removed-distributed-sell-thrown away:

  • Clothes you don't wear.
  • Most of the souvenirs, except for those that really create coziness in the interior (in fact, this is a smaller part of what you have).
  • Unsuitable or outdated utensils, appliances.
  • Etc.

The more you dig, the better for you. Understand that every thing, literally every thing, is a particle of your energy, look at them soberly and take into your new experience only what you need there and will please you. Approach all things with a question - “Do I want to leave this energy or let a new one come in its place?”

Do not pour into a full glass of water

You empty your own glass. How much you pour out, so much will pour in. Greedy, do not be surprised that big changes will simply have nowhere to enter.

It is difficult for me to advise here in detail, since I do not have such a problem at all. Due to frequent relocations and changes of residence, I literally learned to weed out the unnecessary and part with seemingly beloved, but in fact stupid souvenirs. But seeing the apartments of some of my friends who have been living in one place for years, or even decades, it’s just a museum of rubbish from the past. What changes can be discussed?

In general, general cleaning of the house is a game called: "How ready am I to let new experiences into my life."

How much you throw out, so ready.

By the way, this applies to all your spaces, including the workplace in the office, cottages, cars, private jets and whatever else you have there. Surprise colleagues - clean your desk for real, start the real process of uncovering.

2. Throw out files

Throwing out garbage is flowers, it's time to throw out files. How much time do you spend on the computer and online? This is also your space, although virtual, it is also part of your energy.

We are used to storing everything on the computer. Why throw away? hard drive enough for everything.

Here the principle is the same: cleansing is the release of energy. Keep only what you like and value. Why keep a movie you didn't like? Why keep some old stupid files? It's all a piece of you. Do we carry it with us, realizing that the more cargo, the slower the speed, or will we give place to a new one?

Debriefing requires not only your personal, but also your work computer, as well as virtual accounts: social networks, blogs, websites.

3. Put things in order, give things their place, organize files

It is not enough to throw out the rubbish, it is necessary to put things in order in what is.

I have never been on the side of strict cleanliness, I even cultivated creative disorder for a long time, hiding behind my penchant for art.

Now, I will say this - a harmonious order (not fanatical, but systematized - when things have their place) - this is the key to the good and efficient functioning of affairs, especially if it's time to accelerate. You will not be able to switch life to a new speed, with complete chaos on the desktop and in the apartment.

4. Filtering the incoming information

Order and cleaning also require the flow of your incoming information. In general, this is food for the mind, and the work of your mind depends on its quality. You can't say otherwise.

Information intoxication, have you heard? This is a common disease that many people are now infected with. They read everything on the net, endlessly repost quotes of great people, completely atrophying the ability to hear the voice of their soul.

Information has the ability to accumulate, it does not go anywhere from our subconscious, so it must be carefully filtered. Let in only what is valuable and immediately launch it into implementation - then it teaches and develops us, otherwise it clutters up the channels, creating a powerful information noise. This leads to making mistakes on the Path due to the inability to hear the voice of one's soul.

1. Clean up your friend feed.

Remove those friends whose reading does not resonate or inspire you

2. Clean your walls.

It is necessary to remove or hide those people whose news is annoying. Especially those who post negative from world events.

3. Decide on a set of blogs and sites that you intend to read.

My main principle how to determine the value of a resource for yourself is a response in the soul. When you read something and feel a return inside, it is a very distinct feeling of awareness and a thirst for action.

And in no case should it be a tape based on the principle “I was added - I will add it and I will read it.” No, this should be a selection of only those resources that fill and delight you personally. It also needs to be regularly cleaned and replenished with new resources.

I have an rss-feed for reading, where websites, blogs and livejournals are placed, those people whom I want to follow, as well as a "read" list on twitter. There is a separate “mailing list” folder in the mail where letters come from those I subscribe to. And I read them! If any author ceases to satisfy me, I unsubscribe. But I never get emails just like that. And I don't read tapes social networks, with rare exceptions. All channels are subjected to general cleaning on a regular basis.

5. Finishing unfinished business or resetting them

It is important to complete all the tasks from the “waiting” list: either transfer them to the “in progress” status and really do and do, or reset them. It’s better to decide for yourself that at this stage the case is closed and I don’t do it anymore than to “carry” this burden with me. You should feel from the inside that all your affairs are done, the current processes are on schedule, there are no hanging questions left. This is "speed one" for approaching the question, "What do I want from this life?" and move towards conscious change.

In conclusion, I want to sum up. The process of general cleaning of your present consists of two key points - getting rid of trash at all levels, as well as streamlining things, including the incoming information flow.

Set up your channels so that you receive only high-quality useful information in moderation and you will see how your world will be transformed. What difference does it make how all your friends and acquaintances are doing? You can meet them in person when you have time, but using their “news” on a daily basis is almost a guarantee that there will be no drastic changes. Unless all your friends live the life you dream of

It is possible to create yourself anew if you understand that the old experience is not your adviser in this.

Each of us has thought more than once about how to change our lives for the better, starting with our own home. The hardest thing is to start, because it is not clear where.

It is better to start with the simplest. For example, I recommend to start with "negotiating" with the living space, so that it supports the changes and does not take away, but, on the contrary, gives us energy.

In one room you feel more alert and focused, in another you want to hide in a corner and do nothing. Just how many thousands of years these ancient arts have been known and practiced, in my opinion, speaks for itself.

And if inside you are boiling, fatigue and disappointment have accumulated, to a dream like to the moon, why not start the process of changes in life from your own home?

How to start the process of change

It would seem that it could be easier than changes in the house: just take it and do it. However, when trying to take the first steps towards improvement, you may encounter some limitations and pitfalls.

For example, even knowing the rules of ancient knowledge, you will not be able to change the shape of your house or apartment, change the location of the toilet, remove the high-rise building that covers the landscape :).

Thoughts “everything is lost, you need to look for another apartment” or “why then do all this” may come to mind ... However, do not give up.

Even if there is an opportunity to find another apartment, you must first bring this one to mind, because it manifested itself in your life for a reason, and for some reason you need its study.

If you just leave everything as it is, positive changes in your life will not come as quickly as you would like.

Step 1. Clear the space of trash and unnecessary things

There is a very true logic in this, since the cleanliness of the room, along with the correct arrangement of furniture, ensures good circulation of vital energy - Prana or Qi.

However, there is one factor that is often forgotten: a sick space, and, unfortunately, in most cases it is just that, can resist.

Unfortunately, this resistance will be stronger the longer the space has been in the state it is in now. Therefore, if this is your case, then do not forget to take the next step.

Step 2. Conduct a cleansing ritual with a candle

First of all, before starting the changes, try to tune in to your space, thank it for being long time it supported you as much as it could, and that all your actions are aimed at its treatment.

Spend cleansing ritual with a candle by choosing one of the favorable lunar days.

For the ritual you will need a candle. Take it in your hands, or put it on a saucer, turn to face front door and light it up.

When the candle lights up, move from the front door strictly counterclockwise around the perimeter of the apartment, repeating to yourself " clean up, clean up".

Go back to the door, where you started, and leave the candle on the floor or on any piece of furniture to burn out.

After the general cleaning, this ritual will need to be repeated.

Step 3: Use Living Flowers to Support Change

Fresh flowers, as well as fresh fruits and vegetables on the table, will help reduce the resistance of space to change.

Flowers can be both in bouquets and in pots.

Choose fruits or vegetables according to the season, the main thing is that they personify the idea of prosperity and fertility for you.

Place a bowl of fruit or vegetables on the kitchen table.

Legend of Vastu Purusha

There is a Vedic legend about Vastu Purush, a person who guards all the buildings of the world and is their owner, like a brownie, well known to us from Russian fairy tales.

Vastu Purush was born as the embodiment of the unbridled energy of chaos, but defeated higher powers agreed to serve the people.

However, he asked: In the golden, silver and bronze ages, people will build their dwellings according to the laws of Vastu and will faithfully serve God, and I will also receive many gifts from them, but in the Kali Yuga (our days) people will build houses in which I will suffer and they will not bring gifts to me! What will I eat?»

The Creator of the world replied: If the people of Kali Yuga squeeze you into uncomfortable rooms and do not make offerings to you according to your taste, you can eat them yourself.".

No wonder fairy tales mention a saucer of milk, which was left for the brownie! However, the smell of fresh flowers and fruits will be just as good :)

step 4. use other ways to "feed" the space

Another easy way to heal a space is with the right music.

Choose the one that represents joy, peace, harmony. It can be classical or sacred music, sounds of nature.

It is not necessary to turn on the music at full volume, even a quiet, barely audible auspicious sound will help your space heal.

Let's summarize what needs to be done to start making changes in the house:

  • First of all, you need to clear the room of unnecessary things and trash. It is favorable to plan and carry out general cleaning.
  • Since the sick room often resists change, it is recommended to perform a space cleansing ritual with a candle, following the recommendations in this article.
  • In order to “nourish” the space while it is being healed, use fresh flowers, as well as vegetables and fruits.
  • Use other ways to support the space in your home, preparing it for change. For example, using special music for this, as indicated in the article.

Please write your questions and feedback in the comments to this article.

Have a great Vastu!

Best regards and best wishes,

Regina Rakhmatullina from the Bashkir city of Sibay is the heroine of our first interview. Her story is about how putting her house in order helped change her life and the lives of other women. Regina in her small town organized three decluttering marathons using the Marie Kondo method. In his group she shares the secrets of restoring order, teaching children to it, her observations on how consciousness changes in the process of cleaning. Our author Rozalia Abdullina talked to Regina about how the order around affects the order in the head, how to love yourself and your home, and simply - about the life of a mother of three children.

Rosalia: Regina, tell us, did you like to clean up the house in childhood, adolescence? How did it develop into adulthood?

Regina: At the age of 8-9, I had the largest bedroom in the house. It contained my parents' closet and my mother's dressing table. Most likely, this fact did not give the feeling that this is my corner.

I dreamed of a small but cozy room. And so I was transferred to this. It contained my everything: a single bed, a wardrobe, a desk and a bookshelf. Even the view from the window on Yamantau - the highest point of the Ural Mountains - seemed to belong only to me! She was always in order. Anyway, that's how I remember it.

When I was 13, we moved. I was again given a separate room, but there was no order there. Now I'm ashamed of it, but my dad cleaned up my bedroom. Now I just understand why it happened. He likes to rearrange the furniture, outweigh the curtains - to create comfort at home. And in my room, he also periodically changed everything without asking my opinion. Because of this, the room did not please me, I did not feel like a hostess there. Hence, there was no desire to restore order there.

This went on until I was 21, when I got married. A daughter-in-law with such housekeeping skills is not such a great joy for a mother-in-law. But the first marriage did not teach me that order in the house is important!

Rosalia: What inspired you to start a new life?

Regina: Changes in my life began two years ago, and they are associated with cleaning. After parting with my first husband, with some intuitive instinct, I began to put things in order at home, and he began to please me! And life has changed dramatically.

Then I lived in a 2-room apartment, with drinking and smoking neighbors. I didn't like my room or the neighbors. And there was no way to move to another place. And then I decided: since I can’t change my place, I’ll just change my attitude towards it! I began to dream: about what will happen in 10 years, how I want to live, where I want to live, what I will be like if I live there.

I began to look at my apartment with different eyes and it began to expand. Instead of a dryer and ironing board, she imagined an entire room dedicated to such matters. The kitchenette became a large dining room, and the hall became a huge living room. I walked along these 39 sq. meters, as in 390. The apartment was on the third floor, and going up the stairs, I imagined that this was my three-story house.

The yard became a private farm, which, together with the children, we cleared of debris and turned into a large play complex. I planted flowers in the front garden. At the entrance, I washed the windows and window sills and began to sweep regularly from the 3rd to the 1st floor. After all, it was all my space!

Gradually, the apartment changed: the wallpaper changed, beautiful curtains appeared, a vase in which there were always freshly cut flowers - she gave them to herself. I fell in love with the apartment, the entrance, the yard where I lived.

At the beginning of each day, I looked on the Internet for photos of rooms that resonated in my soul. And then a photo of the family, men. Whether it's a joke or a coincidence, but after some 3 months miracles began to happen in my life - there were a lot of coincidences with those pictures that inspired me in the morning! Most importantly, a man appeared future husband and now it's real! And it was he who, jokingly loving, pushed to study the issue of restoring order. And I was inspired to run the decluttering marathon by the movie Life is the Thrilling Magic of Cleaning and Marie Kondo's book Magical Cleaning.

Rosalia: How long does the decluttering process take in your home? And how did it affect your life?

Regina: The decluttering process began at the end of August 2016. The most active part took 9 days. Then I got rid of 80% of the things that did not please me. The remaining 20% left as consciousness changed. KonMari teaches me how to relate to people through the attitude to things. I realized that my home can only please if I myself fill it with joy. Nobody else will do it.

I organized my thoughts. Today I am satisfied with the order, first of all, in my head. Now I know where I need to move, what to develop in - and that's good! I have a vector. And not as before - a wind rose.

I like to support my husband. He began teaching hatha yoga classes. And I'm happy for him as if it was my undertaking. In turn, I organized Mandala Dance classes for young mothers.

In our city, there is a Happy Super-Mom community, which has essentially become public organization solving social, cultural, environmental issues. And I found myself in helping other mothers: I conduct culinary master classes and needlework classes. Never in my life would I have thought that such a primitive thing as CLEANING could change the worldview so much.

I like what I do now: I cook, I wash, I clean the house, I walk with the children. I am not torn somewhere “outside”, I am not looking for some kind of total realization of myself. Now I know that I am not cut off from the world, being on maternity leave, taking care of the children and the house. I am where I need to be, and at the right time. And it's all thanks to cleaning!

Rosalia: You are running a decluttering marathon for the third time. What is its essence? What do participants receive after passing it? What changes have they made?

Regina: The marathon consists of tasks for one or two days, depending on the amount of work. In a friendly company, we put things in order in the house for each separate category of things. First, we sort out our personal belongings, then we move on to writing materials, kitchen utensils, detergents, etc. We finish the work with "sentimental" things. There is only one principle - we leave what pleases, and get rid of the rest. This sequence developed from the experience of Marie Kondo. Initially tried it on myself, and it is really correct.

I constantly reminded the participants that the main thing in this cleaning is how you put things in order in your head. And the fact that you will have order at home is even secondary. But to get the first, you need to work with the second, because the physical reflects the inner. “Look around you and you will see what is inside you” is my main slogan.

And the girls who completed the tasks really had changes. Someone just realized that he was a hoarder. Someone has learned not to buy everything, but to listen to their heart. Others have had a clear change: some have moved into houses or apartments they dreamed of. One of them received a parcel from her sister from Thailand with beautiful things right after she got rid of her unhappy clothes. Some finally realized what they want to do in life. Someone learned how to stack things vertically and taught this to children. Everyone gets their own. And this is natural, because in order to get something, you need to love what you already have and be grateful for it.

Rosalia: I know that you continue to work in this direction. What can you say about Marie Kondo's new book? What did you think of it?

Regina: A new book Marie Kondo's "Sparks of Joy" describes in more detail how the space is organized after decluttering. She was even more inspired to continue putting things in order in her life.

Let me share with you a trick that is described in the new book: if you do not know how joy feels, then use the ranking (i.e. ranking in order of importance) “top three” method. In each of the categories of things, choose three things that definitely make you feel joy, excitement, happiness. And compare the rest with this top three. If you find it difficult to determine your attitude to this thing, then the comparison method is the best!

Rosalia: Regina, thank you for the interesting conversation and your inspiring experience. What would you like to wish to all those who are just going to put things in order in their lives?

Regina: I want everyone to pay attention to themselves. This is possible with the help of tidying up your house, along with which the cleaning of your heart will also take place! Decluttering will help clear your head of unnecessary memories that pull you back, from other people's desires that lead you to the side. Cleaning makes it possible to live here and now!

I believe that the changes that took place within me influenced the changes in my life. I am sure that before you change what you don’t like, you need to try to look at it from the other side, love it. And then something better will come! I wish you all such wonderful changes!

The principle is to throw out everything you can, and even A bit more. The bottom line is to put an end to each unclosed issue: either complete the case or cancel it if its need is no longer so important.

The main thing is to remove all hanging questions from the to-do list.

I want to note that it is not proposed here to immediately polish your present, like Cinderella (although this is useful!) - first you need to put things in order and close the hangings, even by resetting them.

But not on the principle of "I'll put it in a box, somehow I'll bring it to church." And we'll take it away. Leave nothing on the pending list.

What is trash?

That's all you don't use. Let's do this: everything that you have not used for a year (this is very loyal) must be removed-distributed-sell-thrown away:

- clothes that you do not wear;

- most of the souvenirs, except for those that really create comfort in the interior (in fact, this is a smaller part of what you have);

- unsuitable or outdated utensils, appliances.

Etc.

Due to frequent moves and change of residence, I literally learned to weed out the unnecessary and part with seemingly beloved, but in fact stupid souvenirs. But seeing the apartments of some of my friends who have been living in one place for years, or even decades, it’s just a museum of rubbish from the past. What changes can be discussed?

In general, general cleaning of the house is a game called “how ready I am to let a new experience into my life.”

How much you throw out, so ready.

By the way, this applies to all your spaces, including the workplace in the office, cottage, car, private jet, and whatever else you have there.

Enough hard drive.

Now I will say this - a harmonious order (not fanatical, but systematized - when things have their place) - this is the key to the good and efficient functioning of affairs, especially if it's time to accelerate. You will not be able to switch life to a new speed, with complete chaos on the desktop and in the apartment.

4. Filtering the incoming information

Order and cleanliness also requires the flow of your incoming information.

To let in only what is valuable, and immediately launch it into implementation - then it teaches and develops us, otherwise it clutters up the channels, creating a powerful information noise. This leads to making mistakes on the Path due to the inability to hear the voice of one's soul.

1. Clean up your friend feed

Remove those friends whose reading does not resonate or inspire you.

2. Clean your walls.

It is necessary to remove or hide those people whose news is annoying. Especially those who post negative from world events.

3. Decide on a set of blogs and sites that you intend to read.

My main principle, how to determine the value of a resource for yourself personally, is a response in the soul.

I have an rss-feed for reading, where the sites, blogs and livejournals of those people whom I want to follow are taken out, as well as a "read" list on twitter. There is a separate “mailing list” folder in the mail, where letters from those I subscribe to receive. And I read them! If any author ceases to satisfy me, I unsubscribe. But I never get emails just like that. And I don’t read social media feeds, with rare exceptions.

Tune your channels to only deliver good quality content in moderation, and you'll see how your world will change. What difference does it make how all your friends and acquaintances are doing? You can meet them in person when you have time, but using their “news” on a daily basis is almost a guarantee that there will be no drastic changes. Unless all your friends live the life you dream of.

It is possible to create yourself anew if you understand that the old experience is not your adviser in this.

And now for cleaning!
